In fact, it isn’t even for me. So much that’s in here is beyond what anyone but an elite athlete or a strength and conditioning coach will ever need. Yet it was fascinating.

Such a wealth of knowledge about the effects of training on performance, and how to balance strength training and conditioning with the practice of the sport.

But there is definitely good and actionable information in here for the person looking for General Physical Preparation. Doing any of th This book is not for everyone.

Doing any of the basic programs andd here will get anyone in shape and ready for whatever activities they wish to take up. It reads like a book written by jocks for jocks. The writing reflects this. At times it was good, as the book was designed to be of a conversational nature.

It is a conversation between two recognized experts in the field sharing their mutual knowledge and experience back and forth, each contributing to the other. I suppose it had to be written this way.

It couldn’t have been a prescriptive reference manual.

But it did get hard to follow at times, purely because of this style, at least for someone who is not a strength and conditioning coach. Definitely worth reading, but you should read Nohn to the People by Pavel first to understand it a bit more.
